What it is for

Most desks only need the monitor lifted a few inches and pushed a few inches back, and that is all this arm sets out to do. It takes screens from 13 to 32 inches up to 17.6 lbs, mounts either by clamp on the desk edge or through a grommet hole, and stops there. For a standard office monitor that has spent its life on a plastic stand, it is the whole upgrade.

Check before you order. The 17.6 lb limit is the real constraint here, not the 32 inch figure. Plenty of 32 inch screens weigh more than that once the VESA plate is counted, so check the monitor weight in its manual before assuming the diagonal is what matters.

What assembly actually means

Fifteen minutes with the supplied hex keys. The order that saves time is: base to the desk first, then the VESA plate onto the monitor while it lies face down, then lift the screen onto the post. Doing it the other way round means holding a monitor one-handed while tightening a clamp.
