What it is for
Where the high-capacity arm is about maximum weight, this one is about how the arm behaves once the screen is on it. The 17 to 49 inch range and 26.5 lb rating cover most ultrawides on the market, and the mechanism is tuned so that a large panel can be pushed, pulled and tilted with one hand rather than wrestled. That difference is what people notice after the first week, not the spec sheet.
Check before you order. If the screen is close to 37 lbs, this is not the right arm despite the 49 inch figure, and the higher-rated ultrawide model should be used instead. Diagonal and weight are separate limits and both have to be met.
What assembly actually means
Installation follows the pattern of the other large arms, with the base fixed first and the screen fitted last. Spend the extra two minutes setting the counterbalance tension with the screen already mounted: an arm tensioned empty will drift under a heavy panel and feel worse than a cheaper one.
What it changes
- One-handed adjustment is the whole argument for a premium arm, because an ultrawide that needs two hands to move ends up never being moved.
- A 17 inch lower bound signals what this arm is for: it is not a compromise mount that also does small screens, it is set up for big ones.
- A 26.5 lb rating covers the great majority of 34 to 49 inch panels while keeping the arm slimmer than the maximum-capacity model.
