What it is for
Monitor mounts are black because monitors are black, and on a white or pale wood desk the result is a black gantry running across an otherwise light surface. This is the same category of dual stand in white: two screens from 13 to 32 inches at 17.6 lbs each, clamp or grommet, with the whole structure finished to disappear against a pale top instead of drawing a line across it.
Check before you order. This one takes 100 by 100 mm VESA holes only. Check the back of both monitors before ordering, because a mixed pair with one 75 mm screen will need an adapter.
What assembly actually means
Assembly is conventional, and the finish adds one worthwhile habit: fit the clamp with a cloth between the jaw and the desk if the desk is also pale, since two light powder-coated surfaces under pressure mark each other more readily than a black clamp on a dark top.
What it changes
- A white mount behind two screens is invisible in a way a black one is not, which matters because the mount is at eye level and the desk is not.
- One base carrying both screens keeps the pale desk surface clear, so the colour choice is not undone by clutter.
- Independent arms let two different monitors be levelled to each other rather than left at whatever height their own stands gave.
